Mofones! reviewed in "Week Link" Pittsburgh City Paper, November 20 - November 27, 2002. Volume 12, Issue 47 On their new EP, Mofones!, Pittsburgh's long-standing pop molesters The Mofones continue on with the brand of fuzzy-guitar pop-rock and goofball lyrical shenanigans one would expect from Mike Shanley and Sharon "Mama" Spell. To put it another way, here's a band that can sing about Family Ties and "Posthumous Stardom" with equal aplomb -- hell, the can even find a rhyme for The Blair Witch Project. So it's right that they should pair up for this, the Mofones! release party, with Philadelphia anti-folk prankster Adam Brodsky -- purveyor of "Jew-grass" on his new Hookers, Hicks and Heebs CD. (Justin Hopper) 9 p.m. at the Quiet Storm Coffeehouse, Garfield. 412-661-9355
